William Michael Hamilton, Jr., 45

HAMILTON          William Michael Hamilton, Jr., 45, passed away on
Saturday, May 17, 2014 suddenly from a brief serious illness. He was born
June 13, 1968 in Jacksonville, FL and was a graduate of Middleburg High
School class of 1986. William attended FCCJ for two years before moving to
Charlotte, NC to join the U.S. Air for 22 years. After settling in
Charlotte he came to realize he was much more interested in the medical
field than retiring from U.S. Air. He went back to college and graduated
with honors majoring in radiology in 2006. William continued his education
graduating in 2008 majoring in radiation therapy. He loved his job working
at Carolina Health Care System-Union County in Charlotte where he had been
since graduation. William was also a clinical instructor at the hospital
for students of Stanley College. He had found his “niche.” William loved
his job, the people he worked with and helping his students be all they
could be. He had combined two professions, medical and teaching. William
was a music lover, animal lover, “Pepper and Kaley,” a Gator Football fan
and loved all sports. He enjoyed snow skiing, traveling and spending time
with his friends. William was a wonderful and caring person and will be
missed by us all. Survivors include his mother, Ramona Hamilton; father,
William “Bill” Hamilton (Joyce); wonderful and loving companion, Michelle
Lowder of Charlotte, NC; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins,
other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday,
May 22 at 3PM in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin
Road, Jacksonville, with Pastor Dave Malmberg officiating. Interment will
follow in Ferreira cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday
at the funeral home beginning at 2PM. 714-1110
