Donald Floyd Coleman, 63

Donald Floyd Coleman, 63, went home to be with the Lord
Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was born May 8, 1951 in Maxville, FL to the
late Francis and Myrtle Coleman, as the baby of seven children. A lifelong
resident of Maxville, FL Donnie served with distinction as Chairman of
Deacons for 35 years at First Baptist Church of Maxville and was an active
member for over 50 years. He was always faithful to serve others with no
thought of himself. Donnie was a founding volunteer member of Maxville
Fire Department and remained a volunteer until his death. He was a member
of what some might call the “old men’s society” at Hatcher’s Auto Parts.
Donnie worked at Coleman Pulpwood after graduating high school until
mid-1974. In 1974 he accepted a position with Gilman Paper Company as
supervisor of the Chipping Operations until health problems caused his
early retirement. Donnie will be remembered as a kind, gentle, God fearing
man and for his love of his family, church family, dirt track racing and
“junking” with Tank. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, BF and James;
sisters, Minnie and Evelyn; in-laws, Sollie and Dorothy, and brother in
law, Buddy. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ellen Coleman;

on Saturday, February 28 at 11am at First Baptist Church of Maxville, 8635
Maxville Blvd, 32234 with Brother Richard Fish, officiating. Interment
will follow in Long Branch cemetery. The family will receive friends on
Friday (TODAY), from 6-8 pm at the church. Services are under the
direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, Jacksonville, 714-1110.
