Janet Goodman Hughes passed away on Tuesday, March 17,
2015. She was born July 18, 1920 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio and was of
the Methodist faith. Our Mom has left us after 94 years of living, loving,
laughing, caring, sharing and giving of herself to all who were blessed to
have been a part of her life. She is celebrating her reunion in Heaven
with her granddaughters, Kim McAlister Roberts and Michelle Rivera;
parents, Walter & Faye Baker Leach; brother, Harold; sisters, Lois, Marge,
Doris, Betty & Wilma. Watch out Lord, the Leach girls are in the house!
Mom has also lost many close friends through the years. We can’t wait
until she runs into Blanche, Eunice, Marge, Mary, Eleanor and so many
more. She leaves behind so many of us to cherish her memory, children, Bud
Goodman (Cathy), Dot McAlister (Rick Johns), Mel Goodman (Pat), Cliff
Goodman (Joyce), Marilyn Harpin (Robert), Faye Infinger (Steve);
grandchildren, Robin, Tim, Mel, Krystle, Tyler, Jerry, Amy, Todd,
Charlene, Doug, Jason, Danelle, Cindy, Bobby and their families; great
grandchildren, Matt, Riley, Brayden, Kamryn, Maxton, Brennan, Noah, Ella,
Michael, Paul, Kalynne, Tyler, Jesus, Jessyca, Amber, Jorge, Taylor and Raelyn;
many nieces and nephews who consider her their second Mom; her friends,
Emma and Ralph and so many others from Riverside Presbyterian Apartments.
Mom spent the past several months living with Dot and Rick in “the
forest.” She loved watching the cows, chickens, horse and birds out her
bedroom window. We have to thank Haven Hospice for the wonderful care they
gave Mom during her last few months with us. Her nurses Melissa, Valerie,
Kat and Tammy brought so much love to Mom and support to us. Linda was a
blessing and Mom loved the back rubs she provided with the baths. Robin
and Carla gave so unselfishly of their time to give us time to get things
done away from the house. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March
21st at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road
32218 with Pastor George Johnson officiating. The family will receive
friends 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be by cremation.
