James Harold Mathews

James Harold Mathews, went to be with the lord on
Thursday April 30, 2015. He was born on October 12, 1940 in Bonita, LA.,
to the late James Mathews and Ruth Driggers. He is preceded in death by
three brothers. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy for twenty
years and also worked for the Revlon Company for 10 years. James loved his
family, friends, his dogs, fishing, photography and gardening. Survivors
include his wife of 28 years, Peggy; sons, Jimmy ( Anne), Patrick
(Jillian), and Chris (Nicki); daughters, Wendy (Tim), Julie, and Amber
(John); 4 brothers and 4 sisters and 13 grandchildren and 2 great
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 6, at 11am
in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road with Rev.
Roy Thomas officiating. Interment with full military honors will
follow at 1pm in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive
friends on Tuesday Evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. In lieu
of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice NE 4266 Sunbeam
road, Jacksonville, or to The Wounded Warriors Project.
