Vivian Noe Doan, 79, went to be with her savior Sunday, July
26, 2015 following a brief, unexpected illness. She was born October 5,
1935 in Harlan, KY to the late Claude & Margaret Noe. Vivian was a loving
wife, devoted mother and precious friend to many. She met and married the
love of her life, Donald C. Doan, Sr., in Harlan, KY and they moved to
Jacksonville in 1961 where she was a hairdresser and later worked for the
Duval Co. School Board as a teacher’s aide until her retirement. Vivian
was a master quilt maker, enjoyed traveling and shopping with her sister,
Lou, cooking for family gatherings and solving crossword puzzles. She was
predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Donald. Survivors include her
sons, Donald Doan, Jr. (Carol), Ben Doan; sister, Lucille Whitehead
(Travis); grandchildren, Katie Riley (Brett), Cameron Doan, Logan Doan;
great grandchildren, Brooklynne Murray, Kalli Riley; nephew, Claude
Whitehead (Tammie); great niece, Stefanee Chandler (Tim); great nephew, T.
Jay Whitehead; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services
will be held Saturday, August 1 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral
Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, 32218, with Pastor Gewanda J.
Parker officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen’s Cloister Garden
Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8pm at
the funeral home, 714-1110. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that
donations be made to the church that Vivian and Don loved and supported
