Billie Joe (Rawles) Morton, 85, passed from this earth to
her heavenly home Thursday, November 12, 2015, at River Garden Hebrew Home
surrounded by her family and friends. She was born December 29, 1929 in
Lynch, KY, to the late Daniel & Joe Ann (Creech) Rawles and had lived in
Jacksonville since 1942. Billie graduated from Andrew Jackson class of
1949, retired as an LPN from Methodist Hospital in 1989, was a member of
North Jacksonville Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by all. She
was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Earl Lamar Morton, Jr. and
sister, Bobbie Rawles. Survivors include her daughters, Melody Morton and
Rachel Leleux (Joe); brothers, Charles Rawles (Christine) and Paul Rawles
(Terry); grandchildren, Crystal Geiger (James McKinney), Megan Smith
(T.J.) and Emily Howard (Michael); great grandchildren, Tristen, Grace,
Wyatt, Trinity and Waylon; several nieces, nephews, a host of other
relatives and friends. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday,
November 18, at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New
Berlin Road 32218, with Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr. officiating. Interment will
follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends
Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home, 714-1110. Special thanks
to the staff and medical personnel of River Garden Hebrew House who cared
for her during this difficult time.
