James William “Billy” Mock, Jr., 58, went to be with the
Lord Sunday, December 20, 2015 after losing his courageous battle to
cancer. He was born November 7, 1957 to the late James & Laverna Crews
Mock, Sr. in Jacksonville, FL, where he lived most of his life. Billy was
a Mason. He loved cooking out, especially barbeque, coaching little league
baseball at Highlands Park, playing golf and softball. Billy was a loving
husband, father, friend and enjoyed his family including his extended
family in Cobbtown, Ga, in Savannah, GA and from the Mill. He was preceded
in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his wife of 38 years,
Theresa; sons, James “Trey” Mock, III, Christopher “Chris” Mock; brother,
Ricky Huggins; stepfather, James Hodges (Martha); father and mother in
law, Fred & Sylvia Spaulding; brother in law, Nathan Spaulding (Kelly);
nephew, Nathan “Daniel” Spaulding, Jr.; a host of other relatives and
friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26, at 1pm in
the Good Samaritan Church, where Billy was a life time member, 44 Jericho
Road, Jacksonville, 32218, with Rev. David Collins and Dr. David Thompson
officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will
receive friends on Saturday beginning at 12pm at the church. Arrangements
are under the direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 714-1110.
