Cullen “Mason” Brown, Jr., 89

Cullen “Mason” Brown, Jr., 89, passed away Saturday, June
11, 2016. He was born February 24, 1927 in Jacksonville, FL, where he
spent most of his life, to the late Cullen & Debbie Brown, Sr. Mason
returned to Jacksonville in 2006 coming from Fruitland Park, was a
graduate of Wildwood High School class of 1945, was a WWII veteran and
served in the U.S. Army and retired as a foreman with CSX Railroad after
45 years of service. He loved gardening (especially his vegetables and
blueberries), traveling (especially to their cabin in NC and recently to
the Holy Land), and was an active member of North Jacksonville Baptist
Church and the Prime Time Men’s Sunday School Class. Mason was predeceased
by his sisters, Evelyn Warnock and Jeanette Brown. Survivors include his
wife of 10 years, Dolores Donaroma Brown; son, C Mason Brown III (Linda);
daughter, Shawna Glass (Robin); step daughters, Pamela Dicocco, Kim Owens
(Kent), Becky Barrick (Bob); brothers, Clayton Brown (Joann), Clyde Brown
(Ann); grandchildren, Justin, Ryan and Avian Brown, Brandon Blong; step
grandchildren, Aaron Guest, Adam and Nathan Barrick, Claiborne Owens;
numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday,
June 16 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd
32218, with Rev. Chris Coram officiating. Interment will follow in
Greenwood cemetery in Wildwood, FL. The family will receive friends
beginning at 10am on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers
donations may be made to the youth ministry of North Jacksonville Baptist
Church. The family wishes to thank Dr. Frank Healey and the staff of St.
