Charles Webster Padgett, 90

Charles Webster Padgett, 90, passed away Saturday, July
2, 2016. He was born August 25, 1925 in Hastings, FL to the late James &
Rachel McClain Padgett. Charles had lived in Jacksonville all of his life
except when he served in the military, attended Andrew Jackson High School
and was a founding member of San Mateo Baptist Church. He was a veteran
and served in the U.S. Marines where he earned the Purple Heart award, was
a supervisor and worked for Jefferson Smurfit Corporation for 38 years,
was an avid fisherman, loved hunting, golfing and will be dearly missed by
all. Charles was predeceased by his sister, Erma Hutto. Survivors include
his wife of 69 years, Mary; sons, Larry Padgett (Sherry), Richard Padgett
(Wendy); daughter, Charlotte May (Bob); 5 grandchildren; 7 great
grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; a host of other relatives and
friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 7 at 10:30am in the
chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd 32218, with Pastor
Paul E. Gordon officiating assisted by Wayne Thorburn. Interment with
military honors will follow in Jacksonville National cemetery. The family
will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home, 714-1110.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Haven Hospice or San Mateo
Baptist Church Building Fund.
