Aubrey “Bob” Causey McClung, 90, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. He was born April 2, 1926 in Sutton, WV to the late Orville & Opal McClung. Bob had lived in Jacksonville since 1944 coming from West Virginia, was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and finished High School while serving in the armed forces. He retired from E.I. Du Pont Mining Company, owned a furniture upholstery business and was a charter member of the Maxville Volunteer Fire Department. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church of Maxville, where he served as a song leader for several years, sang in a gospel group, was loved and will be dearly missed by all. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Gladys McClung; sisters, Virginia Carney, Scharlanna McVicker, Charlotte Smith and Erma Dunlap. Survivors include his wife, Sofia Barnes; sons, Greg McClung, Stephen McClung (fiancé Patti Gilliano); daughter, Gail Wellhausen; grandchildren, Britton McClung, Morgan McClung, Noelle McClung; great grandchildren, Aubree McClung, Colin McClung; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 2 at 1pm at Long Branch Baptist Church, 5500 Long Branch Cemetery Rd, 32234 with Pastor Harry Conaway officiating. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday beginning at 12pm at the church. Services are under the direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, Jacksonville, 714-1110.
