Charles Alton Durham, 88, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. He was born May 11, 1928 in Berlin, GA to the late James & Edith Durham. Charles had lived in Jacksonville since 1957 coming from Macon, GA, was a veteran and served in the U.S. Coast Guard and worked as a paper maker at St. Regis Paper Company. He was a competition pistol fire arm shooter, loved fishing, motorcycles, and will be dearly missed by all. Charles was predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include his son, Charles Durham II (Brenda); daughters, Sharon Bruton (Elmer), Betty Crews (Ronnie), Charlotte Moody (Ben), Gail Hall (Larry), Terri Kennison (Daniel); brother, Carl McDaniel (Margie); sister, Judy Lewis (Bruce); sister in law, Bonnie McDaniel; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4 at 11am at Cedar Bay Baptist Church, where Charles was a member, 11553 North Main Street 32218, with Rev. Bill Tyler officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8pm at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 714-1110.
