Norma Jean (Wilkinson) Moore, 83, passed away peacefully at homeWednesday, July 5, 2017. She was born December 6, 1933 in Bascom, FL to the late Carlus & Catherine Wilkinson and had lived in North Jacksonville since 1955. Jean was a graduate of Malone High School class of 1951 in Malone, FL, was a member of Highlands Baptist Church for over 50 years, loved her pets and enjoyed Alabama football. She touched countless lives through her work as a well-known seamstress in the Highlands area where she resided. There’s no way to know the number of clothes she made and alterations and hems she took care of over the years. Jean truly enjoyed her craft and the many people she met through it. Her true passion was her family, particularly cooking for them. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Roy; brother, Hershel Wilkinson (Kay); sister, Linda Bragg. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Martin (Steve Williams); son, Michael Moore (Kathy); beloved grandchildren, Daniel Martin (Kimberly), Heather Iser (Jonah), Rachel Moore (Jason Crowe); great-granddaughters, Brooke Martin, Charlee Iser; sisters, Mabel Oder, Loretta Johnson (Buddy); countless other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, 32218 with Chaplain Brent Beaird and Dr. Art Taylor officiating. Private interment (family only) will follow. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home, 714-1110. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice of N.E. FL.
