Josephine “Jo” Clark Bennett, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017. She was born May 31, 1936 in Palatka, FL to the late Raymond C. & Viola Clark. Jo had lived in Jacksonville since 1954, was a graduate of Melrose High School in Palatka class of 1954 and a longtime member of Heavenly Heights Baptist Church who loved and trusted the Lord. She had retired as a Quality Control Inspector from Castleton Beverage, worked as a deputy for the Duval County Elections Office at precinct 705 and was a loving, devoted wife, mother, who loved with all her heart, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all. Jo was predeceased by her loving husband of 23 years, John Bennett, Jr. and sister, Lorraine Gibbs. Survivors include her son and his wife, Martin & Brenda Jackson; daughters, Linda Landis, Karen Cross (Mark); brother, Raymond Clark, Jr.; sister, Dorothy McConnell; grandchildren, Brandy Provost (Dave), Bryce Dickey (Angela), Elizabeth Chavez (Andres), Amanda Proulx (Brandon), William Landis, Christopher Landis; great grandchildren, Zachary Bunger, Nathaniel Bunger, Zander Odell, Maddox Dickey, Alyssa Dickey and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9 at 10am at Heavenly Heights Baptist Church, 6680 Dunn Ave 32218. Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery, 45162 Jones Cemetery Rd, 32011. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8pm at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd 32218, 714-1110.
