Bobby “Bob” Gene Hatcher, 75, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 2, 2017. He was born January 10, 1942 in Laurinburg, NC to the late David & Annie Hatcher, attended Wagram High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bob retired as a supervisor after 22 years of service with Dean Foods, raised ducks for local hunt clubs and had lived in Jacksonville for the past 38 years coming from NC. He served as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, was a member of N.E. FL Hunt Club and was a member of Thomas Creek Baptist Church. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be dearly missed by all. He was predeceased by his son, Bobby Hatcher; brothers, Lester, Raymond and David Hatcher; sister, Geraldine Donovan. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Betty; sons, Jason Hatcher (Jennifer), Michael Hatcher (fiancé Kala); daughters, Yolanda Rafferty (Pat), Mary Turner (Donnie); adopted daughter, Tammy Ferdinand; brothers, Tommy Hatcher (Annette), Wayne Hatcher (Lisa), Jackie Hatcher (Mona); sisters, Virginia Phillips, JoAnne Cribb (Mitchell); sisters in law, Edith Hatcher, Virginia Hatcher; grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, Owen, Kailee, Kendellyn, Journey, Avery; numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5 at 6pm at Lannie Road Baptist Church, 5958 Lannie Rd 32218, with Pastor Buddy Wimberly officiating. Interment with military honors will be held Friday at 9am in the Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday beginning at 5pm at the church.
