Robert “Bob” Lee Gammon, 94, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018. He was born December 20, 1923 in Terre Haute, IN to the late Frank & Mayme Schmidt Gammon. Bob was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He first moved to Columbus, OH and in 1950 moved his family to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. After his second wife’s passing in 2007 Bob moved to Jacksonville to live with his son Tom. He later moved to the VA facilities in Lake City, FL until his passing. In his later working life Bob was a union construction plumber with Local # 719 out of Broward County, FL. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane Gammon and his second wife, Bernice Gammon; brother, Gene Paul Gammon; sons, Robert Gene Gammon and Steven Page Gammon. Survivors include his oldest son, Tom Gammon (Joy); step-daughter, Deborah Oakley (Doug); grandchildren, Scott Gammon (Katie), Kimberly Drawdy (Mike), Kimberly Henderson, Kevin Gordie ; great grandchildren, Marshall, Lorelei, Colton, Sara, Brooke; numerous other family and friends. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Monday, January 22 at 1:30pm in Jacksonville National Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Flanagan officiating. The family will receive friends Monday morning at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd, 32218, 714-1110. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Duval Station Baptist Church’s building fund.
