Gayle Anderson Cain

Cain – Gayle Anderson Cain, age 76, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on February 13, 2026. Born to Leonard and Jane “Betty” Anderson, Gayle was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. She enjoyed tending to her garden and trying out delicious new recipes. Cooking was a delight that would always bring her family together around the table. Gayle’s faithful dog, Buddy, was her constant companion and brought her comfort and happiness. Above all, family was the heart of her life; she cherished every moment spent with her sisters and other family members; they had a deep bond that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Gayle was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Cain; parents, Leonard and Betty Anderson; brothers, Keith Anderson and Casper Anderson; and sisters, Norma Weakley, Sonja Smith, Claudia Kellum, Cindy Duran, and Brenda Kirkland.

Gayle leaves behind her sons, Timothy Cain, Scott Cain (Angie), and Christopher Cain (Christy); grandchildren, Kimberly, Brandon, Darren, Macy, Savannah, Seth, Harley, Logan and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Riley, Logan and Riannan; sisters, Lana Elaine Geoghagan, Vicki Lynn Nelson, Lawana Trouille-Anderson, and Kimberly Anderson; and her best friend, Toni Dixon Weber.

A Celebration of Gayle’s Life will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn’s Creek Baptist Church, 1425 Starratt Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218, with Pastor Dave Malmberg officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Cemetery, 7116 Cedar Point Road, Jacksonville, Florida, 32226. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
